What to wear in Denmark in August? |
Travel Info Hello! I will be visiting Copenhagen in early August, and since I am from Greece, where the current temperature is 40 C, I have no clue what should I pack with me! Also, any other general comment/advice for tourists in Denmark is welcome! Thank you. Travel Tips Okay - the average low temp in Copenhagen is 62 degrees Fahrenhiet (16 degrees Celcius) and the average high is 69 degrees Fahrenhiet ( 20 degrees Celcius) - so a lot cooler than what you are used to but very comfortable. You can access information on temperature for all of Denmark at http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/weath... Now, layering is always a good idea. Pack some sleeveless tops, short sleave t-shirts and long sleave shirts or blouse. Take a sweater or light jacket (I always travel with a denim jacket). Take a pair of shorts or two, loose fitting pants and maybe a skirt for dress up. One pair of comfortable walking shoes and a nice pair of shoes for dress up. That should do the trick. Accessorizing is the key. Scarves, jewelry, belts help dress things up. For some packing lists you can refer to http://www.ricksteves.com/plan/tips/wome... http://www.ricksteves.com/plan/tips/wome... http://www.travelsmith.com/ts/packlist.j... Scandinavian summer weather is notoriously unpredictable. Having said that, the locals will probably be sporting t-shirts, come rain or come shine. Hey, August is summer! Better to bring summer clothes and you swimwear, but also pack a couple of light sweaters and rain protection. Although it will probably not be as warm as Greece, it should be quite pleasant. You should be able to wear what you wear in Greece in the summer. Pack a light jacket, but you probably won't need it. Hello i live in Copenhagen and i suggest you bring alot of warm cloths ,it can and will get very chilly at times ,,normal temp here is only in the high 60s sometime 70s or 18c to 23c .depending on where your going to stay and if your near the water it can get down right chilly ,,i never leave the house without a jacket and long pants at night ,,,your used to very warm weather and just to be on the safe side so your comfortable bring a few things that can be taken off if we are lucky enough to have some nice warm days ....feel free to email me if i can give you any other advice ,,, |
