I need a delicious recipe for HERRING POT PIE/CASSEROLE,? |
Travel Info preferably one that is made in a deep and long (rectangular shape) casserole dish, the white ovenproof baking dishes, and a recipe that makes this dish with a pie crust at the top, showing the shape of a fish, like this: http://www.historicfood.com/design/asset... I'm not sure if its a pot pie or a casserole, or a mix of both. Please help, thanks. And if you have a photo of it, please post the link here. Travel Tips A Finnish version Sillilaatikko (Herring Casserole) 1 lb (4cups) thinly sliced potatoes 10 pieces of herring (available preserved in jars) 1 onion, chopped 录 tsp white pepper 1 egg 2 c. milk 1 Tbsp flour Layer on to a well-greased casserole dish: potatoes herring chopped onion Finish off with a layer of potatoes. Mix egg, milk, pepper and flour. Pour on top of potatoes. Bake in moderate oven (380F) for about two hours, until well done. Others I'm sorry but I don't think the words Herring Pie and delicious should be in the same sentence. Ewwwwwww! I apologize, I have no recipe for you. |
