Is anyone from Sweden,Norway,Iceland?Would you answer this, please? It's important? |
Travel Info I heard that in nordic countries the distance between people when they talk remains politely about 2 metres. If this is true, then what they do in the bus or train if they is too crowded? Is crowded in the buses from Sweden or Norway, usually? Travel Tips Oh no, it's absolutely not 2 meters! That would look hilarious! Think slightly more distance than Americans, and I think you will get it right. Maybe less than 60 centimeters would feel uncomfortable? I must test this before I really know! But it depends a lot on the situation. In a crowded bus, it's no problem at all. There is no space, and it's obvious to everyone, so we share the little that there is. But if you are waiting at a bus stop in an empty place and some other person comes and choose to stand really close to you, in spite of all the space he/she could have chosen - then you would probably try to step aside a little... Another thing is that in Sweden (don't know about Norway), people tend NOT to select the seat just beside a seat that is already occupied in the bus. So everyone first takes the window seat, alone - unless they are in company, of course. When the window seats are all occupied, then people start to take the seat beside one that is already occupied. Buses can be almost empty and they can be so crowded that you don't have to hold on to anything when you're standing in the mid row - other people's bodies keep you upright anyway. It depends wholly on rush hours. Source(s): I'm Swedish Other Travel Tips |
