Which countries language is dominant in Scandinavia? |
Travel Info We are travelling to Sweden, Norway and Denmark this summer and want to spend some time learning a language. Which is best Swedish, Danish or Norwegian Travel Tips As another answerer said there are more Swedes, but Norwegian is probably the most logical language to try and learn a bit of, since it's more readily understood by both Danes and Swedes than either of those languages are to the others. Norwegians and Swedes usually understand each other quite well, whereas it's a bit more difficult with the Danish language, since the pronunciation is quite different from the others. All three languages are very similar though and many words are exactly the same. Good luck, it's quite an endeavor :-) Hope you all have a wonderful vacation. |
