Is it better to buy or rent a house in Denmark? |
Travel Info We are relocating to Denmark. Are there benifits to owning your house vs renting like in the US. For example tax breaks. Travel Tips i am american and my husband is danish...we just built a house. the taxes here are outrageous but i'm not sure on the tax break....i do know u get a certain allowance after the house is bought to get things for it....but i think that is the same in the states. depending on where u live to its bettter to buy right outside the city, you get more for your money. there is a waiting list i believe in a sense for homes in copenhagen and u spend way more then building outside or buying. then u have to fix up the old homes. i will ask my husband though to see the details and i'm sure there are some here that are danish and can give a clearer answer however they may have never bought a house in the states. u can email me so i can give u details and what u need to look for. also depending on your job and how long u are staying there may be rules about owning a house if you are foreign, and u can always call the embassy in copenhagen and they can give u more info. |
