Travel Tips You can take I-70 east all the way to Columbus, then get on I-71 north in Columbus. Then it's about 100 miles "north" (actually, northeast) to the I-76 east junction, leading right into Akron. Yes, strangely enough, there's another stretch of interstate called I-76 on this side of the country - it runs from Akron to the New Jersey side of the Philly suburbs, and the Pennsylvania stretch of it is the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
