Travelling to Denver in March-not a skier - need ideas? |
Travel Info Traveling to Golden, CO 3/13-3/17 on business - staying through 3/21. Limited amt of time - to sightsee, should we go north to Estes Park, or south to Pikes Peak (tram isn't running yet I believe). Not into skiing, or nightlife - really want to see the beauty of the area (mountains). Any travel/things to do suggestions? Travel Tips I recommend: Denver Art Museum, Denver Known for its wide range of Native American art, this museum also contains the only major Asian art collection in the Rocky Mountains. Attraction type: Garden Colorado State Capitol, Denver A key feature in the Denver skyline because of its gold bell-shaped dome, the Capitol Building, fittingly in the Mile High City, has a point located at exactly 5,280 feet above sea level. Free tours are available for visitors. Attraction type: Government building Ocean Journey, Denver This new innovative aquarium offers self-guided tours through two separate ecosystems, the Colorado River and the Indonesian River. Attraction type: Aquarium Colorado History Museum, Denver Visit this museum to explore Colorado's pioneer history through artifacts, dioramas and photographs. Other Travel Tips If you have that weekend free, you definitely have time to see both Estes Park and Pikes Peak - go to Estes Park (and Rocky Mountain National Park) one day, and then drive down about 2 hours to Colorado Springs (Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods) the next day. Since you seem to have the time, I'd recommend doing both places - if you were limited to only one day, I'd say Estes Park since it's closer to Golden.
