Where is the best place to be in colorado?

Travel Tips
IMO, Colorado Springs. It's got the benefits of a big city like Denver, but without the drawbacks of a big city- it's a very good place to raise a family (and I live in Denver-but prefer the Springs).

I've been all over this state(I moved here from Florida- I love this place, so here's my thoughts on other places):

The Plains(Limon, Burlington, etc)- Boring. You might as well be in Kansas.

Boulder- Nice if you like hippies and CU college students driving around drunk and raping coeds.

Summit County(Dillon, Breckenridge)- Beautiful. Close to skiing, rafting. A bit cold thought.

Durango and the San Juan Mountains- very beautiful but far away from any big city cultural acitivites.

South Park- Not as interesting as the TV show.

other cool places to visit:

-Rocky Mountain National Park- This is a religious experience.
- Mount Evans/Pikes Peak- Really experience the Rocky Mountain high @14,000 ft. Be ready for snow anytime- even in the middle of the summer.
-Great Sand Dunes NP- What a bizarre place. Sand dunes at the base of snowcapped mountains. And that crazy creek where the waves break like they do in the ocean.

Others
Durango is really nice, esp. in the summer on a Harley.
I like going to colorado.
It is so flat.
Denver has a lot of wonderful things to do. The zoo is really nice, the museum has interesting exhibits, and then there's the free Coors brewery tour in nearby Golden. I live in Pueblo and have lived previously in Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs has some nice attributes, but the way people drive in that city is enough to deter anyone. Academy Blvd. (the main street) has an accident every 8 seconds. Pueblo is ok also, but it's always dry and windy here. The green chilli is pretty good though.
It depends on what you want to do.

The mountians are great for sightseeing and skiing. You can travel to the mountains year round for various activities.

Denver is great for the musuems, food, and shopping.

The Southwest is great for the things you can see. Mesa Verde, the Great Sand Dunes, and 4 corners.

It just depends on what you want to determine the "best" place.
