What's to do in Downtown Denver that's interesting?

Travel Info
I'm headed to Denver for training today. Are there interesting things within walking distance of downtown denver? In case the group I go with just want to go drink. I'm not big on smelly bars even if they are ESPN. Grats.

Travel Tips
The best thing about visiting or living (in my case) downtown is that everything is within walking distance or at least a short cab ride. As far as drinking on weekends, the places to hit up are 14th -20th streets between Blake and Market. It's the closes thing to Mardi Gras denver has to offer lol. It's 3 blocks of door to door clubs and bars.

If you are looking for something a little different, you could go to Sing Sing, which is a dueling piano bar. You could also go to the Comedy works, they have a no smoking show. Look up thier website for shows. THe Walnut Room in the warehouse district has live music and a great bar too.

16th Street mall is nice too. At the Pavillion, you can go to Coyote Ugly (yeah from the movies) or Jazz at Jacks for live music and drinks.

There are also quite a few upscale martini bars in denver, especially around 15th and Larimer. Also, in Larimer Square, some of the restaurants have great bars as well as food. The Samba Room serves cuban food and great drinks. Sambucca's has great jazz and great drinks.

You have a lot of options. It just depends on the type of environment you're looking for. Ultimately, the best way to find everything is to take the free shuttle up and down 16th street mall and just get out and walk. Good Luck.

Others
lodo (lower downtown) which has coors field for baseball or the 16th street mall.

There are tons of great things to do in Denver. First and foremost there is the 16th street mall which is an outside mall to hang around at. The denver museum of Art is nice as well. As far as nightlife goes I would suggest The church (danceclub) on fridays for Techno or also La Rumba on Saturdays for salsa/merenge! The people are fun and are willing to get to know ya! Fado's is a great Irish pub with excellent food.
The Art Musuem and Colorado History Musuem are both downtown right by the Capital.

You are in luck if you ever come back-July 1st the state-wide smoking ban goes into effect so no more smelly bars
