Is there a cool bar near downtown Denver that's not in LoDo? |
Travel Info I like atmosphere, a good beer selection, and a menu with bar type food. The crowd should be late 20s to late 30s. Any ideas? Travel Tips For a good beer selection, and a good atmosphere (but at times crowded cause of it's popularity) I would recommend Mead St. Station. It is located in the Highlands neighborhood (which is about 15 minutes from Downtown up Speer to 32nd. Because the Highlands neighborhood has experienced a revival of sorts in the last 10 years, many late 20s to mid to late 30 year olds frequent this bar. They make a great fish and chips there...and definitely have other bar type food. Plus there is a GREAT wine store just up the street...if you decided to veer off of just beer..and pick up a bottle of Vino before heading home. It is called Monde Vino. Other Travel Tips hmmm i know a good dance club its called church of the seven candles on lincoln and 11th i think but it sounds like you would like dave and busters better its down off colorado and I-25 great food. then if you want you can head over to shotgun willies the gentlemens club just over the highway. My favorite bar is My Brother's Bar at 15th and Platte. Atmosphere is great, huge beer/liquor stock, friendly chatty drunks at the bar, great bartenders (Jimmy from New Yawk is a hoot!) and the bar food is excellent - JCB is da bomb! They even have an outdoor enclosed patio in the back. It's an older place where apparently Jack Kerouac and other Beat literature types used to hang and get drunk. Purple Martini was my favorite bar when I lived there but that was three years ago and they moved I guess. I also liked the one that opened up in the place of the Buffalo company I want to say on 11th and Lincoln but I don't remember the name of it. You know where that big statue of a Buffalo is? |
