What are winters like in Colorado? |
Travel Info What are winters like in Colorado? Travel Tips I lived in Boulder, and I found the winters nice. I'm from New England and live there now.. i thought the winters were pretty way different from the winters here in new england. one day it'd dump a ton of snow and be really cold, then the next it'd be mild and sunny and the snow would melt. i remember one day after a heavy snow the street i lived on was so pretty...with all the tree limbs covered with snow. much drier than the east. the cold doesn't seem to cut right through ya. i love colorado, and the winters....i miss it!!! hope this helps!! Others Extremely cold . Well! Depending on how you look at it & where in Colo your going to live, it could be; fun, expensive, exciting, cold, though the sun still shines. It can be friendly it can also be hostile, again depending on where, also your own attitude, You could find a good job n settle down for good, though in my case I had to find a new job every 6 months, gaurrentteed, even though I did US Army service, this is HARD when there's a growing family to support. Plenty of nice sceneary in the mountians and places to visit. I've been snowd-in for a week, driven on ice for at least 4 months of winter, baked in the sun in the summer too. Been very disapointed also been plesently suprised to. I wish you the best in colo, it wasn'r for me had to move on, though do return every couple of years to visit family, what an expence! Good luck if you do go to stay... Mountains- Very cold- 500 inches of snow a year. Denver metro - great plains- Warmer, occasional blizzards, many smaller snowstorms, some warm days, some days in the negatives. Our winters are very different depending on where you will live. The weather is always changing! Not too bad - it snows for a couple of days, but you get some days of beautiful sunny weather too. I moved here a year ago and these are my observations: The mountains: tons of snow, yet still many says of sunshine. Denver and the front range: Surprisingly, not as much snow as you would expect. Denver gets snow early and late(Oct/Nov and March/April) but not that much in between. The weather here can change a whole lot. The nights are always cold in winter, but the days can be very sunny in the winter. The high temperature on Christmas Day last year was 70. BEAUTIFUL.....Most people would say they are COLD, but when you were born and raised in Colorado, you don't really feel the cold. Lots of snow, low temps, rain, it's just plain AWESOME.... |
