What are the best places to visit in Denver, CO without a car?

Travel Info
I am going to visit Denver for 5 days from 9.14~9.18, but I don't have a car, are there any recommended attractions for a traveler like me without a car? (Better By Public Transportations.)
Also are there any possible ways for me to get to the nearby national park and Golden, CO by taking any other available transportations?
Thanks for your help!

Travel Tips
There are quite a few things to do near downtown. 16th st mall, some art museums, the capital buildling, some fun restaurants, the zoo's not to far. You might want to check and see if there are any sporting events. The light rail will take you to some places out of the city. The only way I can think of that you could get to a national park is maybe by bus. You also might want to go up to Boulder, if there is a bus or something. When we came out to visit Denver, we found a really good deal on Expedia with every other night free, averaging out to being about $30 a night.

museum down town . washington park ,lots up people or the lake in aurora 225 & iliff if memory serves me well.
you need to tell us where you are staying. You can take a shuttle to Golden - i'm not aware of one for the Rocky Mountain National Park (it is the national park closest to Denver - 1.5 hours by car).
There are lots of things to do downtown (museums, amusement parks, 16th street mall, etc.)
16th street mall. Great atmosphere, free bus rides up and down the mall, there is even a stop at the train station.
The Denver RTD bus system is one of the best bus systems in the US. You can get almost anywhere in the city with little problems. There are also regional buses which can take you to Boulder bringing you closer to Rocky Mountain National Park.

If you want to get into the mountains, a good way might be to take the bus to Central City/Black Hawk. These are casino charter buses which charge a nominal fee- they want your gambling $$$, but some people just go out there to get to the mountains without gambling.
I lived in Denver when the kids were little, and I didn't have a car. I think the bus system is easy and dependable. For example, the #15 bus is 15th street and so on. Anyway, the #10 will take you to the Denver Botanicals and the Denver Zoo, both awesome. Take the #15 (Colfax Ave.) downtown and there's the Denver Buffalo Company for lunch, the 16th Street Mall, shopping, Larimer Square, a beautiful new Library, the Denver Mint. On Colfax, if you like Tempura, stop at the Golden Tempura Bowl. On 14th and Pearl or therabouts there's great old record stores and bookstores....have fun and eat at Round the Clock burgers! Colfax also has tons and tons of tatoo and piercing places. It's the longest continuous street in the US. People are very friendly and will give you some tips also! p.s. - to get to Golden, get to downtown Denver near the statue (across the street from Subway) there's a bus stop. There's a way to get to Golden. I believe it's the #3, then #2, then #1 busses. You have to switch twice. Just grab a transfer when you get on. You'll go via West Colfax, which is great because you'll be running right into the mountains. Coming down Colfax at all looks like a movie set with the mountains right in front of you. E-mail me if you need more info. Now I'm getting homesick!
