Travel Info I currently live in Bloomington,Indiana and I am considering moving to Denver, Colorado from Indiana need adv? Travel Tips its nice out in Denver but something that you need to understand before making that big move is that the surroundings and people are different out there than in Indiana. you have to be someone who adjust well to a new life right from the start. if you are someone who gets homesick or likes to know what to expect day to day then i advise you to possibly just stay there for awhile first so you can see how well you and your body adapts to the climate, people, surroundings, and altitude. like i said its very nice, many things to do but before you just pick up and leave your home.. make sure its what you truly want cause once your there and moved in.. your there! Others Remember Lot's wife. Seriously ... check out www.colorado.com Good luck! What do you want to know? living a mile high, for the first time you can't drink as much alcohol as you would down there. FORGET IT SHIFT TO HOLLYWOOD. EVERYTHING IS HAPPENNING THERE. GET BABE AND MAKE MONEY AND GET TO RUB SHOULDER WITH MOVIE STARS Before you go, you need to visit the place and take a look at the economy there and the people. The economy is worse than your area. Pay is lower and cost of living is higher because of the scenic mountains. Also, the people are ok, but it doesn't have the small-town hominess of Indianapolis. If you get sick where you lvie now, someone cares. If you get sick or lose your job or have some kind of problem, people in Denver are just too busy to care. I lived just south of there for 25 years and finally packed it in and came home to the midwest just so I could breathe and live and not be chasing my tail round the clock. Three incomes could not keep up with the bills in Colorado. That's a sad statement, but very true. So, first, check out housing and wages and see if you can live on that. And go from there. It's a beautiful place to live and the weather if fabulous. The altitude does affect you in little ways. You won't be able to drink as much alcohol. But that's a good thing, right? Well, I moved from Columbus OH to Denver in 1983, when I was 26, and I fell in love with Denver and CO. It is, IMO, the greatest city on this planet. Denver is ranked #1 in the USA for singles. My advice: 1) read The Rocky Mountain News http://www.rockymountainnews.com/... 2) become an instant Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets, and Rockies fan (not necessarily in that order) 3) subscribe to the magazine "5280" 4) use this for the best restaurants, things to do, services to use, etc. etc.: http://entertainment.rockymountainnews.c... 5) make sure you make time to explore the mountains, from Rocky Mountain National Park to Georgetown to The Black Canyon of the Gunnison to Telluride to The Great Sand Dunes to Mesa Verde to Aspen to Colorado National Monument to.....the list is endless. 6) get some smothered burritos at El Chapultapec. not optional. 7) see a movie at the Imax theater 8) get a martini at Avenue Grill 9) walk around Larimer Square 10) visit the Tattered Cover 11) drive to the top of Mt Evans 12) above all, immerse yourself in all that "is Denver". You won't be disappointed. Why move away? You can stay here in Indiana with me! I live in Fort Wayne and have plenty of room :) |
