Does anyone know what it is really like to live in Lovelorn, CO.?

Travel Info
I have been doing research to move out of New York. I would love a small city, quiet lifestyle. I want to make sure that I could support myself. I make about $42 grand in NY. What kind of salaries would be about right to keep my lifestyle, yet be ok to live on my own in Lovelorn, Co. ?

Travel Tips
Perhaps you mean Loveland? There isn't a town in Colorado by the name Lovelorn. The town of Loveland, CO, is just south of Ft Collins, to the north of Denver on I-25. It's a smallish town (50,000), but if you're willing to commute a little bit, it's easy to get somewhere bigger where there are more jobs. Ft Collins is nearby, and Boulder and the Denver metro area are within commuting distance. According to the cost of living calculator I consulted, you would only need a $20k/yr salary to maintain your standard of living, but take that with a grain of salt. That's assuming you live in Manhattan right now, and not considering the possibility that you live in Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, etc.

Loveland, like most of Colorado's cities, is located on the plains along the I-25 corridor just east of the Rocky Mountains. You can get to the mountains by car in roughly 30-45 minutes, and the major ski areas are probably 2 hours away. Recreation on the plains is limited to what's available within the towns (Ft Collins is home to several breweries if that's your thing), but recreation in the mountains is virtually unlimited -- camping, rafting, kayaking, boating, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, etc. Any way you look at it, though, Loveland would definitely be more low key than NY and would give you the small town feel you're looking for.

There's also a ski area by the name of Loveland along I-70 west of Denver. Jobs are harder to come by in the high country, but the land is beautiful and recreation opportunities are everywhere.

Hope this helps. Source(s): http://www.bankrate.com/brm/movecalc.asp...

Other Travel Tips
its really cold sometimes then its warm in the day so
there are places in every stare from calif to main that have
affordable living
u should get a better job making better money if you want to live here. we dont like poor people in our town of Lovelorn. they tend to steal things. probably the only job u could get here is being a stripper cuz you seem like you're not the sharpest knife in the kitchen. So u should probably move to Vegas so u can carry out your dream about dancing on a pole.
