Travel Info I'm leaving Massachusetts to move to Colorado, is this a good choice? Is Colorado a good place to live? Travel Tips Yes , it麓s very nice place to live.... everywhere,, specially Boulder (my thought)............ it isn麓t to expensive, the wage in good. Good jobs, good places to go, not a huge city, clean, parks, lakes, quiet life...................... I used to live in a small city Brighton very close from Denver.....................goo... luck................ Kunn Others NO, people are wierd! get ready for the twilight zone! beautiful country..brings lots of money! COLORADO is beautiful. The people are very friendly, outgoing and love the outdoors. You will have a blast and it is NOT expensive to live there. I lived there for 2 years and loved it! The climate is mild, especially in the winter where it can snow one day and be 60 degrees the next. HAVE FUN! The West is a fun, friendly, beautiful place to live!! I'm jealous. It depends on what you are looking for. I don't think I would say that the climate is mild, but we don't get nearly as much snow as people think we do, probably less than in Mass. We were surprised by the summers, it gets up in the 90s for at least a couple weeks and occ. even hits 100. And it's also very dry so be prepared for that (drink lots of water, etc.). The people are pretty friendly although it can sometimes be hard to get past that to actual friends. It is beautiful here though, you can see the mountains from pretty much anywhere. And there's a lot to do, especially if you like outdoorsy stuff. We moved from CA and it's a much more reasonably priced place to live and I think Mass. it about as expensive as California. In most areas, you can easily by a house for less than 300k. Boulder we actually found to be the most expensive area but it has some nice attributes too. We live in Douglas County which is a great area for families and has really good schools. Denver is much different than the east coast. People are different, the attitude is different, etc. There are beautiful mountains everywhere. Our winters are a mixed bag. In 2003, our Christmas high was 70 degrees. 2 weeks later, we had 4 feet of snow in our back yard. I will note that our winters are a bit warmer due to global warming. We have many great places to ski, and mountain bike. I would suggest moving to Littleton, a suburb 20 miles south of denver. The town has a beautiful main street, and is not too expensive! Unfortunatly, Denver has very little public transportation. It is not like the east coast. We do have a few train lines running from the suburbs into Denver. I hope that you enjoy denver and all it has to offer. Good luck. Living in denver i have been to almost every state (including Mass) and i think colo is at the very top of the list of best places to liive. most people can find what they are looking for, no matter their lifestlye. Nice lofts are being built in lower down town (lodo) along with many new parks, restaurants and stores. i particularily like the area of Wahington Park. the houses are very pricy but nearby apts are reasonable. if you are more into the suburbs than littleton or highlands ranch are my picks. you must get into the outdoorsy stuff if you are already. try everything! mountain biking, hiking, camping, rock climbing, rafting, skiing/boarding. places of interest: 16th street mall, rocky mountain natl park, the ski towns like vail, breckenridge, aspen, keystone, winter park. also pearl street in boulder. if you have any other questions re: denver you can contact me and ill do my best to answer. |
