I have a plan to go to Denver in Colorado for weekend (vacation time)? |
Travel Info I have a plan to go to Denver in Colorado for weekend (vacation time飦? do you know what can we do over there or do you know any website that give us more information??? Travel Tips Depends who you are going with. Kids? Adults only? I dont know but since you said "vacation" I am going to assume its a family vacation. Six Flags...always fun The Aquarium...fairly inexpensive too Water World If you want a more "Colorado Experience"...I wouldnt suggest Denver as your location. Denver is more big city feel. Crime and traffic. Here is a few other cities: No 1 on the list without a doubt would be Estes Park, CO...gorgeous town in the rockies. Litlle shops, cabins, horseback riding, "The Stanley", a hotel there where THe Shining by Stephen King was filmed...supposedly haunted, but they do daily tours (I believe at no charge). No. 2...Fort Collins, CO...Was named the number one city to live in America. Less traffic, less crime. The weather is perfect..not too hot, not too cold. And only 30 min drive from being in the mountains (The Poudre Canyon). The Poudre is beautiful, river flowing through. Maybe get a cabin up there next to the river, do a little fishing or just chill by a camp fire. http://www.estes-park.com/ http://www.coloradomountainvacation.com/... Source(s): Lived in Colorado for 28 years.... Other Travel Tips There are many things to do in Denver/Colorado Of course a lot depends on when you will be here. The mountains are a must. Hope I am able to help..... I put a couple of sites below: www.coloradotravelplanner.com www.colorado.com www.coloradoinfo.com www.go-colorado.com Me, I have lived here my whole life Seeing the capitol building is a must. You can also go to the Denver mint and take a tour. Take the free bus down the 16th street mall, getting off wherever you want to go shopping. Have dinner at Casa Bonita - the food is terrible, but the atmosphere is worth the price. Take a drive up into the mountains: try Mt. Evans - the highest auto road in the world; or Pikes Peak - you can see 7 states from the top; or Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Drive up to Lookout Mountain at night and see the lights of the city twinkling. Buffalo Bill's grave is also at the top. Have a fun trip - Denver is a great city! By all means go see the mountains. Take a drive and see where you end up. Mount Evans is a great drive but be careful not to drive off the road and go easy on the brakes on the way down. Just 30 minutes outside of Denver is the Georgetown Loop Railway. It's a very scenic ride on a vintage locomotive, and you will learn lots of interesting history. There's lots of hiking trails around Georgetown plus shopping and dining, and the Guanella Pass road out of Georgetown is very scenic. I think most ski resorts keep gondolas open in the summer and provide great scenery. If you're feeling adventurous go whitewater rafting. |
