Travel Tips
The Mint is a neat, educational place to go. You get to see the process of coins being made. I have not been in a long time as I was pretty young, but I do remember the most exciting thing about it to me was at the end of the tour, you got a commemorative coin that was made then and there the day you toured the place. The tour guide let me push the button that started the machine to make the coins. It was a fun memory!

Addional Info: Yes! They still give tours!!!! See here:

Other Travel Tips
I went there in my youth. Wrought Iron fence with points around the perimiter, stone construction, big cold federal style building. I did not get to go inside.
we went ther on a feild trip it is boreing they make coins in it i dont recomend going
they don't give tours there anymore but i went there (before they stopped giving tours) once it was pretty cool
the smartest guy i know
I went there as a kid and loved it. I loved seeing the coins made and thinking about the fact that half of all the US coins I would ever see are made right there.

I would trust the person who gave a website and believe that there are actually still tours given.
