Best and Worst about CO living? |
Travel Info I love CO, and would love to move there. What are some of the pros and cons about living there? Travel Tips Colorado is a beautiful state. If you are looking to move to Denver here are some cons: Denver is a sanctuary city for illegals. Lots of illegal Mexicans. Parts of the city are really trashy. Traffic is pretty bad. Housing is expensive but coming down. Pros: The weather is good most of the time. Skiing Sports teams Lots of recreational activities. The economy and job market if fair to good. Where are you from? What part of CO are you thinking of? Others Great weather, awesome skiing, beautiful mountains. Unfortunately, a tad on the expensive side, but worth it! i dont blame you for wanting to get out of TN. co will seem like heaven compared to that place! cons: some areas traffic is bad but there are always alternative routes or the carpool lane. or we have a good bus and lightrail system. some areas real estate is pretty high. if you look hard enough you can find good deals especially if you are open to outside areas of denver. pollution is a problem. i dont notice it other than the "brown cloud" but some people with really sensitive allergies do. i personally am getting a little bored with colorado. but ive been here for many years and everything is more fun here in the winter so i am waiting for that. pros: people are nice, outdoorsy activities (try hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, camping, snowshoeing, and snowboarding), mixed culture( but for the most part pretty redneck free!) good museums, good restaurants, great parks (try washington park or city park in Denver or Rocky mountain national park in estes park) and the great weather! mild summers, sometimes snowy but warm winters and very low humidity anyway, if you have any more questions feel free to contact me. good luck I moved from Florida to Colorado, so I know where you are coming from on this one. A few of the pros and cons as I see them: Pro: - Very Beautiful everywhere(except perhaps the 35% of the state which is the great plains. - Generally, sunny weather which changes frequently. The humidity will be much lower than what you are used to in the east. - Plenty of things to do. Cons: - high cost of living. - Too many people living on the front range(Ft Collins through Colorado Springs). - people are very political in this state if you like liberals, Boulder might be the place to be. If you don't like Christian conservatives, moving to Colorado Springs or some Denver suburbs might be too much like home for you. |
