What are the temperatures like in Denver, Colorado?

Travel Info
I was thinking of making a long weekend trip there in January or February with my husband but I don't want to go if it's going to be too cold. We're from Maine so we're used to below freezing but the Denver website says it's typically 60's during the day?!

Travel Tips
Colorado in general is SO unpredictable. February through April is typically the months in which we get the most snow. As far as cold goes, if you're from Maine, you'll have NO problem with the temperatures here! In fact, it may be a heat wave to you!

During most of the winter, the average temperature is in the mid 40掳's to 50掳. When we get storms, they move through quickly and leave quickly. Rarely does the snow even spend the night. Generally, it snows in the morning and by evening, most of the snow is gone.

You should have no problem with the weather here! Especially if you from Maine! Source(s): Genuine Colorado Native
and I don't plan on leaving.....Ever!

Typical 60 during the day in January? No way! Denver has one of the most changeable and unpredictable climates on earth when it comes to temperatures. I lived there for a 2 years, and I can tell you from about november to april it you have to be prepared for anywhere from -25 below to 85 above. And sometimes even on back to back days. A typical January day would probably be in the 30's or 40's, but again we woulndt be shocked it it didnt get above 0 or if it got above 60. But to 60 is average is way off. I think being from Maine you will be fine, unless they get one of their extreme cold snaps
yes thats ture about 60, plus or minus a few degrees, over nite in the 30s. but the sun is usually out. we get over 300 days of sunshine a year. feb and march it could snow, but it's here today , gone tommorrow because of the sunshine. if you're from Maine, it'll be like going to fla.. well not really. but much warner
January is statistically the coldest month in Denver, with February a close second. The average daily temperatures in January are a high of 43.2掳F (6.2掳C) and low of 15.2掳F (-9.3掳C). The daily averages for February are a high of 47.2掳F (8.4掳C) and low of 19.1掳F (-7.2掳C). Our actual temperatures this past winter ranged from 69掳F (21掳C) to 9掳F (-13掳C) in January and 77掳F (25掳C) to -13掳F (-25掳C) in February, so you should be prepared for a wide range of temperatures. If you're from Maine, you'll think you're in the tropics.
