The best ski sites in the winter are areas outside of Denver like Vail and Aspen. There's also a lot of great shops and some decent sports teams. Or you can take a drive on the twisting roads of the Rocky Mountains and find where they filmed the tv movie version of "The Shining" at that creepy hotel. It's the Stanley Hotel (the main inspiration for Stephen King's book) in nearby Estes Park, Colorado Or you can drive over to Boulder for a glimpse of the granola crowd and really neat record stores.
been there and saw the Rockies! mlb rocks. also there is a wonderful museum of natural history, check it out!
