What are the average prices of needs in Steamboat springs Co ciggs,gas,gallon of milk? |
Travel Info I am moving to Steamboat this week and have no idea about anything there... Travel Tips Gas is definitely higher than on the front range. The biggest shock you will get, however, is the high cost of housing and the lack of decent wages. Steamboat is definitely a town with a big gap of rich vs poor. Wonderful place, however. Lived there for several years. There is a Wal-Mart, but I enjoyed the 90-minute drive to Target in Silverthorne. Great schools, excellent mountain, fantastic local eateries and other merchants. Enjoy your stay. Others Prices in a rural town and ski resort like Steamboat will be higher for everything than in large cities. Gas is currently between $2.58 and $2.69/gallon for regular (www.gasbuddy.com). Groceries will be about 10-20% higher than in Denver. It's a long way to any major shopping malls and the cost to transport goods to stores justifies the higher costs. A lot of folks drive to a larger city to a Walmart every once in a while to stock up on stuff. At least you'll be living in one of the most beautiful places in the country! OK, I can help you. Regular unleaded is $2.85 a gallon, but Steamboat does have buses running during the day and they are free to ride. Cigarettes, the cheap ones are around $3 the popular ones are over $4.
