Visiting Denver the first of November, any must see places to visit!? |
Travel Info This is a business trip with lots of free time during the day and evening! Serious answers please Travel Tips Denver is an interesting town. See the website below for some recommended activities. Be sure to visit the Big Blue Bear and the Art Museum. If you're a serious carnivore, have dinner at the Buckhorn Exchange or The Fort. Vegetarians will enjoy Domo, Watercourse, or Taki's. I hope you enjoy your time in our city. Deep Thought PS - Denver has an elevation of one mile = 5280 feet = 1609 meters. The nearby mountains rise to 14264 feet = 4348 meters. Only persons in poor health normally need to be concerned about altitude sickness in the city. Source(s): Denver Travel at http://www.denver.org/visitingdenver.asp... Other Travel Tips i just relcated back from San Francisco. Denver itself is nothing great, but it's about a mile above sea level, so be prepared for a bit of altitude sickness if you suffer from it easily. my suggestion - if you really do have time, go visit Aspen, Lake Tahoe and altho you are not really near, the Grand Canyon. Take in an American Football game too coz the atmosphere is nothing compared to the pathetic Kallang Roar. I think taking in the State Capitol is a great thing to do... It is so beautiful, and the grounds are covered in trees and squirrels, so be sure to take a few peanuts to feed the squirrels... Also the Molly Brown house is a museum now, if you recall her, she was the unsinkable Molly Brown on the Titanic, and the house is located near the Capitol... You can arrange a tour and buy souvenirs there as well... 1340 Pennsylvania St Denver, CO 80203 Phone: 303-832-4092 Description: Home of the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown, Titanic heroine, restored to its original Victorian splendor.. All tours are guided and last 45 minutes. Group tours by reservation only; walk-ins welcome. Available for private events. Open Tues.-Sat. at 10 a.m.; Sun. at Noon; Last tour begins at 3:30 p.m. A property of Historic Denver, Inc. Location: Denver Downtown Drive by the Denver Bronco Football Stadium on IH 25 and see how big and beautiful it is... Take your camera and get some pictures of the Rocky Mountains, they are beautiful... Your first poster recommended Aspen and although it is a beautiful city with lots to see there, it is a good 4 hour drive away and through some very narrow mountain roads, so unless you have lots of free time, I would say to stay in Denver if you can't handle the long drive to Aspen... The Mint is kind of special. You can easily spend a whole day in the Museum of Science and Nature. You can also go skiing--ski areas are already opening. Go to the Fort for dinner. It is a very different experience and worth the drive. I ordered a buffalo steak and buffalo marrow bones. There is a natural history museum which is very nice and the Denver mint and the capitol building. |
