Is Denver, CO a good city to move to for a 27 year old student? |
Travel Info What鈥檚 a good place to live, area or apartment complex, good place to work, best place to meet and make friends in Denver. I have about 3 months to move. Is it an expensive place compared to Florida where I reside now? How are generally denverians (hopefully that鈥檚 the right term), I mean like are they very social, friendly or otherwise. What about the standard of living, does the wage cover the cost of living, the price of gas, how good is the public transportation. How easy is it to find a decent non-professional job? I am an easy going guy, I have lived in different countries and love different cultures, I love meeting new people. If there are any great Denver residents who would answer these questions for me I would be so grateful. I know it鈥檚 a lot of questions, Denver looks like my kind of town and who else to confirm this other than people who are actually from there. Thanks in advance for taking the time and effort. Travel Tips Well, I'm only 16, but I have lived in Denver my whole life. Job wise, lately it seems like the wanted ads are jampacked with new opportunities, that shouldn't really be much of a problem for you. My friend recently moved to Denver from Florida and one of the first things he noticed was that the houses were cheaper, gas was still high, but not as bad as down there, etc. So I just took his word for it since I've never been in Florida before. The trem for Denver residents are "Denverites". Just thought I'd let ya know. Public Transportation: We have a city bus system called the RTD that covers a wide span of land. Also, for Downtown, there is the Light Rail which is like a train, but much faster, quieter, etc. It takes you to all the popular places in LODO. Lower downtown. Socially, as long as you aren't a fan of the Oakland Raiders, you'll be good. Hope you have a nice trip. :) Source(s): 16 year resident of Colorado. Colorado has a lot of relatively young, healthy people who like to do things outdoors. Other than not having a beach, there is a lot going for this state. Florida is much more expenisive when compared to denver. Public transport is decent. We have a few train lines, and a bunch of busses. Trains usually whiz by traffic. Job market is O.K. LODO is a section outside of downtown with clubs bars and lots of nightlife. Most denver residents are nice, I remember the floridians being a bit nasty when I visited orlando. Bring warm clothing. 60 inches of snow in an average year (although global warming has screwed it up) Also- Highlands ranch to Greenwood village is very republican. Boulder is very very liberal, there are mor bikes than cars in boulder! |
