Travel Info Where's a warm (above freezing at night) RV spot within an 8 hour drive of Denver? Travel Tips um not in colorado... go south oklahoma, new mexico, northern texas Others I would guess straight south into New Mexico. alot of nights dont get below freezing but to play it safe best just drive 8 hours south and hope a cold front doesnt come through. This time of year? Best head straight East for Kansas and lower altitude. If you're used to the coasts, the day/night difference is much greater at high altitude in a dry area. It gets cold at night, even south in New Mexico. If you want to go into the mountains, a town called Buena Vista is often called the "banana belt" of the mountains. Right now nights are running 25-35F. Pretty soon they're likely to go below 20. And a cold snap or even a blizzard is always a possibility. But it's your best bet in the Colorado mountains in November. On the other side of the mountains (but still high up) Grand Junction (3 hours) is running 30-40 right now. It's so dry that serious snow is unlikely (but possible). But you have to go across high mountains to get there from Denver, with chances of winter storms/serious snow. Buena Vista is accessible by somewhat lower roads. |
