Weather in Denver in March?

Travel Info
I will have to travel to Denver in mid-March for business. What should I typically expect weather-wise?

Travel Tips
Agree with what the others said. March is definitely the most unpredictable month weather wise. During March of 2003, we had a Blizzard around St Patricks day, places getting anywhere from 2 feet, to 4 feet..depending on what part of town you were in. But the nice thing is that even with that much snow, it doesn't stick around for long. (most was melted within the week.

Colorado and Denver specifically on the average has the most sun compared to many other places (including California).

My advice....as a person who was witnessed 30 years of Marchs here in Colo, prepare for temps around 40s...but don't be surprised if it shows up on the weather channel with a forecast in the 60s-70s. Bring layers. This way you can shed a sweater or something if it is on the hotter side.

Be ready for anything -- sunny and warm, sunny and cold, snow, etc. You should check the weather the day before you leave because its that random.
could be cold, maybe snow, mild, but it will be sunny most every day
March and April are often touted as the snowiest months around here. However, unlike the east coast, when it snows here, it doesn't stick for long. We can get 12 inches of snow one day in March and it can all be melted two days later. go figure!

Regardless, the city doesn't shut down for snow. It is like any other day, you just have to leave a little earlier for work.

Mid March is actually one of the most unpredictable times of the year in Denver. Temps begin to climb and can be in the 60s or 70s. But also March is the snowiest time of year as well as the spring precipitation begins. However, this should not be too big of a cuse for concern because it will probably still only snow 3-5 times in March with all the other days being mild and lovely. If it does snow it will melt very quickly, usualy in less than a day. your best best is to prepare for mild temperatures with a chance for snow. Check the weatehr a few days before you leave on your trip and you should know if snow is in the forecast or not. If not, be perpared to enjoy some sunshine!
some of our worst snow storms happen in march, but at the same time it could be perfect weather. I would check the weather a couple of days before you leave and base my clothing decisions off of that. try using www.nws.noaa.gov
