Snow board in Colorado? |
Travel Info Hi, I'm going to Colorado next December, I would like know, how much I need for do Snowboarding? And, where I can doit closer Denver. Travel Tips Not sure what you mean by 'how much moey'. That depends on what kind of gear you currently own. Let's just say that you live in some podunk town in the south and don't own anything. You will need to buy a jacket and pants that are waterproof as well as some under shirts/pants to keep you warm when you fall on your butt and get wet. You can get these fairly cheap on ebay. You can rent a board, bindings and boots for about $15/day. You will prob want to invest in a lesson if you do not know how to snowboard or are not going with *good* riders. This will cost about $40. Then you have your day pass, which will cost about $51/day or $38/half day. If you are coming from Denver, Copper Mountain and Winter Park, CO are the closest resorts. I live in Winter Park and learned to ride here, so I would say this is a great place to go. Many levels and abilities. skiwinterpark.com is a good website to go to for lodging, rentals and lessons. Luck Others As far as the money question the first answerer was right it does depend on the eqipment you already own. I however live on the other side of the mountains from denver near grand junction and our nearest boarding place is Powderhorn and Snowmass near Aspen, so closer places to ski depend on where you are. Colorado has tons of places to go boarding it all depends on where you are and where you want to go. im not sure what the first part of your question means. you can email to clarify and i will try to answer but as far as close resorts to colorado my first suggestion is Eldora. It is only about 1-1.5 hours from denver. Its smaller than others but it really has all the essentials including many different runs (ranging in beginner to advanced), equipment rentals, two lodges, and private and group lessons are available. Prices are more reasonable (approx $40 a day) but you can find discounts for half days, students etc. If you want a bigger resort I like Breckenridge. Its about 2 hrs from denver. its a very nice resort in a cute ski town. If you want something even more upscale go for Vail. Its huge and has everything a skiier or boarder could ever need. Its going to be more expensive and its about 2.5 hrs from denver. |
