Travel Tips Colorado City to Denver will be brutal. It'll be at least 2 and a half hours without traffic. That ingress is in South Denver, which (although better now) is pretty congested. Budget 3 hours if you come in around 8 or 9. You can't commute from Co City to Denver. Castle Rock is less brutal. About 30 minutes without traffic, an hour with traffic. That's for downtown. For South Denver/Tech Center, it would be pretty tolerable. Boulder to Denver isn't bad distance-wise, but the artery connecting them is congested. From south Boulder to downtown Denver, I would say about 25 minutes without traffic. 45 minutes with traffic. In a few years (8?) they'll open a commuter train to Denver from Boulder, and that will help. The most central place in Denver is Denver itself, but you can also shoot for the western suburbs -- Lakewood, Arvada, Golden. In general, here's how it is in Denver: Urban growth extends more North/South than East/West. That's because it crawls along the mountains. The main north/south artery is I-25, which is congested in spots -- particularly north of US-36, and south of Sixth Avenue to I-225. If your office is the north or south areas of Denver, you probably want try to be on that side of Denver. East-west is also congested, particularly I-70 north of Downtown. (Construction) Sixth Avenue Freeway is bad but only during peak use. US-36, which connects Boulder to Denver, is slow on spots but usable.
