Which town in Colorado is better to relocate, Westminster or Castle Rock? |
Travel Info I currently live in the northeast part on the country (NJ), and my husband, my 2 children and myself have to move to CO. I narrowed it to Westminster & Castle Rock. I like to be able to be in a large or be near a large town area with good schools and nice people. Which town is better and not boring since we will not know anyone. Travel Tips Being from Colorado born & raised until 1990 & visit frequently... Westminster is more urban than Castle Rock. I myself would chose Castle Rock it's beautiful country and has great schools nice people etc... While Westminster has the usual city stuff. Others WESTMINSTER! Castle rock is in the middle of nowhere! You will like Westminster much better - it is a nice town in the greater Denver Metro area. It has a nice mall and nice people. Colorado Native I was told by someone who travels a lot that Westminster is the best place to live. I don't know- but I would like too- we will be relocating to the Denver Brighton area- in about a year- I would appreciate any info you have-if you don't mind-thanks so much- hope you enjoy CO- it is much less humid- take care=D Both places have their appeal. Westminster is more of a city with easy access to everything. Castel Rock is a town that is growing. You don't have as easy of access to the rest of Colorado's highlights, but you do have access to lakes and a rennasainse fair. Castle Rock tends to get hit with more snow than Westminster. http://www.ci.westminster.co.us/... Westminster, Colorado is ideally located between Denver and Boulder with easy access to major transportation routes. All the amenities of a major metropolitan area are located nearby: corporate centers, colleges and universities, shopping and restaurants, cultural facilities, recreation, parks, trails and mountain locations. Westminster lies in the northwest quadrant of the Denver metropolitan area, between Boulder and Denver. It is bisected by the Denver/Boulder Turnpike (U.S. 36) and it is adjacent to I-25. West 104th Avenue crosses the city and provides direct access to Denver International Airport. It is only about a 15 minute drive to watch the Rockies play baseball, maybe another 5 minutes for the Bronco Mile High Stadium (which is now called investco field) and about the same to watch the Avelance play hockey. Castle Rock is pretty cool if you like shopping. It has an outlet center, but you have to drive to go anywhere. It is about half an hour to Highlands Ranch which is at the south end of Denver. Then add 15 to 30 more minutes to get to all the other stuff. The Town of Castle Rock, has an estimated 40,000 people who love our small-town atmosphere, low crime rate, abundant parks and open space and clean air. Located midway between Denver and Colorado Springs, Castle Rock encompasses 33 square miles and sits in the East Plum Creek Valley at the base of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 6,202 feet. The Town is traversed by Interstate 25, is home to the Outlets at Castle Rock and is the seat of Douglas County. Our climate is known as among the nation's best, with more than 300 days of sunshine. Hope this helps... Personally, I really like Westminster for everyday life. And when it comes to going to the outlet centers, I'd rather go up to the mountains and shop in SilverThorn.
