What is the closest ski area to Denver? |
Travel Info I need one that also has ski school for kids. Travel Tips Loveland is the closeset (http://www.skiloveland.com/). 53 miles from Denver. It has a ski school for kids (check out the site for details). Just a personal preference, but I would suggest driving the additional distance to Keystone or Breckenridge. No more than another 1/2 hour down the Interstate. Each of these also have many ski school options for children. Others steamboat.... breckinridge vail... Winter Park Ski Resort, Loveland Ski Resort, Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort & Eldora Mountain Resort I'll recommend Eldora which is about 30 minutes west of Boulder. It's decent and cheaper than other places. You also may want to look into Loveland--about 90 minutes or so west of Denver right off I-70 (near the Eisenhower Tunnel). It's pretty popular and there's plenty of snow right now. Loveland, I'm almost positive, has a ski school. I don't know about Eldora. Those are probably closest to Denver and obviously there are more farther afield which are VERY good areas--like Breckenridge (which definately has a ski school). Have fun on the slopes with the kiddies! Loveland is the closest and is very nice. It is a good place for children. loveland and eldora. however loveland is nicer than eldora (i hear it's always windy) it's located 1 hour west of denver. by I70 its Loveland, Eldora is close to boulder both have ski school. as far as i know both have good snow cover at the moment and both resorts can get quite windy. but both decent places |
