Better towns to reside, Lakewood, Arvada, Westminster for a commute to Denver(DTC)?

Travel Info
Moving from East coast, maybe working in DTC or Boulder, cheapest to rent apt/cleanest, easy commute;
Lakewood, Arvada or Westminster?

Travel Tips
It matters VERY much which place you end up working. DTC is south of Denver and Boulder is west and north.

Lakewood is west, so if you're working in Boulder, it would work for you. Arvada and Westminster are north, so they would also be decent alternatives.

My brother lived in Westminster when he was attending CU Boulder.

However, if you're working at the Denver Tech Center, you would want to be south. Try Aurora, Littleton, Englewood or Highlands Ranch.

Denver Commute sucks. I lived just south of Wetminister for a while and found my commute to be decent. If you can, try to live in Wash park or something just outside of Denver, but still in Denver limits. If you're single and w/out kids, washpark will be good. Denver is Odd shaped, so its hard to say were to go. I say just north or northeast of the city or west just over the highway but not south of 8th. PM if you have any questions.
North-south traffic is rough in Denver. If it's DTC or Boulder, I suppose Arvada is a compromise. You might consider Golden too.
Driving from these areas into the DTC will be a pain. If you find a place in the city then you can take the new light rail to the DTC pretty hassle free. Your best bet is to head into Aurora (east) or Centennial (South,East).

As for Boulder, driving on the turnpike from the Denver area will be a challenge. Best to head away from Denver toward Loveland for a commute into Boulder. I moved to the east coast from the "gunbarrel" area of Boulder - It was toward Loveland and quite a bit cheaper then living in Boulder proper. Just Google up the address for Celestial Seasonings and map it. That's Gunbarrel.
I live in Castle Rock, 15 min south of DTC and work in Lakewood. If you're going to work in DTC Arvada and Westminster it would be a long commute and there is not an easy route.Lakewood or Littleton would be about 30 min.or less. There is affordable rentals there and also in Castle Rock. There are Apts in the DTC area but Ithink they're pricey
Boulder is expensive.

I recommend Lakewood or Arvada.
Arvada or Westminster (where I live) would be a terrible commute to the DTC. Lakewood better, still not good.

That gets reversed for Boulder.

Easy enough for you to tell from a map. There's nothing strange going on here, just distance and whether you have to go through Downtown.

Living near the DTC or Boulder is the best, which is why it's expensive. Aurora is close to the DTC, and some parts of it are OK. Louisville is a possible choice for Boulder.
