What will the weather be like in late March in Denver? High Temp, Low Temp, snow? |
Travel Info We are thinking of coming to the Denver area over Spring break, we don't ski but would like to try. Will the weather be ok to ski and or do other activities like hiking, riding horses etc. Travel Tips The weather will be condusive to skiing. Have fun. Others It's anybody's guess what the weather will be like in March in Denver, especially with the crazy weather we have had so far. Could be in the 60s, sunny, and warm, or it could be in the 40s with snow. There aren't any ski resorts in Denver. You will have to go to the mountains or higher elevations for skiing, should be some really good Spring Break skiing with the snow fall they have gotten. If you are skiing in the mountains, I doubt you can hike at the same location, unless you go snowshoeing.....You might have to go to a variety of locations to do the different activities you mention. The weather is uncertain in Colorado as it is elsewhere. Ski resorts in the mountains are generally open until at least April. March is Denver's snowiest month. Some of the best snow conditions frequently are in March, but it's uncertain. Temperatures tend to be cool days, cold nights. Average highs in Denver are upper 50s, average lows are upper 20s. 5-15 degrees colder in the mountains. It will be pretty cold for hiking or riding horses. For those you'll want to be at low altitudes near Denver. If the trails don't have snow they'll likely be muddy. All in all, for outdoor activities, skiing (downhill or cross country) in the mountains would be my first choice in March. Denver is OK for city stuff then. I grew up in Colorado and have been skiing many times in both March and April. We call it "spring skiing" and many people even wear shorts. No kidding! You can do other activites also, but best to plan on doing those activities in or around Denver, not up in the mountains. Of course, there's lots to do in the Denver area. It will be fantastic. I ski every weekend november to april!! |
