Travel Info Denver: How is your light rail system? Travel Tips It's decent but limited. Denver is a very car-friendly city. A recent study said that only about 2% of metro residents take public trasportation--the majority of whom take the bus. It's just a very car-friendly city that relies on the automobile. We recently passeed a tax increase for a vast lightrail system that will span the whole metro area. However, it's having troubles with zoning and funding and who knows if it ever gets off the ground. Denver is just too suburbanized to support a real strong transit system like Boston or Chicago. Others Denver sucks. The Broncos suck. The Avalanche suck. The Rockies suck. The Nuggetts suck. Coloradans suck! Decent. We have lines that take you to key areas in the city. One line stops at Mile high stadium, the pepsi center, and our locl amusement park. I believe denver has 6 light rail lines. By 2015 that number will be much greater, as they are currently constructing many new lines going in and out of the city. great and growing. They just finished a new section from Denver to the Denver tech center Denver recently expanded their light rail system with a new south line. Overall the RTD system is very good with a vast service area and good frequency on both buses and light rail. A new commuter bus service FREX also connects Denver to Colorado Springs to the South as well. www.rtd-denver.com |
