Where is the best place to live in Colorado, springs? |
Travel Info Where is the best place to live in Colorado, springs? Travel Tips The best place to live in Colorado Springs is Fort Collins. Others probably in Denver I live there and its nice Sorry to say i lived there my husband was in the Army stationed in Colorado Springs, was no fun to boring nothing to do. The best place? The biggest and fanciest houses are a couple of miles SW of downtown, in the same neighborhood as the Broadmoor hotel. Just a little N of downtown there are many historic mansions from around 1900. Mostly on Nevada Avenue. A couple of miles W of downtown, near Garden of the Gods, are many homes with spectacular views of the Garden, and Pikes Peak. All of the above are expensive, of course. Figure $500,000 and up. But they're the best. Since when did Denver move to Colorado Springs? I was born in Denver, and at that time Colorado Strings was a fair drive away. :-) I lived in Colorado Springs for seven years. For the first five, I lived in the Briargate area (look on the map for the intersection of Woodmen and Union); for the final two, I lived in Old Colorado City, which I absolutely loved! If I were going to move back (I had to move due to my work), I think I would actually choose Manitou Springs. It's slightly to the west of Colorado Springs proper, and considerably more active that C. Springs. It's at a little higher elevation, and gets a bit more rain, so it's a lot prettier and greener. It also has a bit of night life if you like a rather laid-back style of living. If you are conservative in your politics, you'll love Colorado Springs proper; if you are more liberal, Manitou Springs is definitely the place for you. Fort Collins is my other favorite city in Colorado, if you're not absolutely committed to the Colorado Springs area. It's a university town, with all that a university has to offer in terms of culture and variety. Remember that in a very real sense, large parts of Colorado are still in the "wild west;" if you accept that for what it is, I think you will enjoy living there. |
