Cool towns in Colorado?

Travel Info
What are some cool towns to visit in Colorado for a weekend vacation? Please tell me the town and why its cool.

Travel Tips
Some of my favorite places.....
Manitou: fun shops. B&B's down there too. Could head up Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds.
Estes Park: of course...shopping, art shows in summer, wildlife. Stay in a cabin. Go into Stanley Hotel. People watching.
Gunnison & Salida: Small quiet towns. I hear alot of artists are there. Simple life. Make sure you go to Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park....awesome views. This trip might be for a long weekend.
Sand Dunes: not sure of town though
Georgetown: some cute shops and good eats. Also some B&B's there. Fishing. Ride on the train there. Fall foliage is nice.
Central City, BlackHawk: Even if you don't gamble, there is alot of history there. Cool cemetary sites, Teller House, opera.
Cripple Creek: Lot of history. You don't have to be a gambler, but I would sneak in a few bucks...lol
Glenwood Springs: duh....hot springs
Idaho Springs: also have mineral springs
Fairplay: Went there at halloween and it was fun. Very small town. Supposedly have a haunted hotel. I would go back here. Again, there is history.
Grand Lake: Cabin/Condo rentals on lake. Lot of shopping. Fishing, boating. Snowmobile & snowshoe in winter. I love this place too.

Have FUN!!!

downtown denver is nice. theres alot to do down there; good shops and food. I live in boulder and its awesome! there are a lot of fun outdoorsy things to do. pearl street is a fun walking mall and has a lot of good food too. the flatirons are right by boulder too! plus its gorgeous!!
It's kind of a long drive but the route through the Rocky mountains from Grand Junction to Denver is breathtaking. Especially in warmer weather. I love the scenary (sp) plus there are a lot of really cool little old gold mining and snow towns along the route. There are some neat hotsprings too. It's been eight years since I took this drive, but it still is very vivid in my memory.
Aspen is my favorite weekend destination because it has very cool bars and restaurants, plus it's close to some of the most scenic spots in the state, particularly Maroon Bells.

I've gone camping three times outside Lake City, which is really in the middle of nowhere! Fourth of July is wonderful there; if you have a 4WD, you can drive up to the Alpine Loop and Engineer Pass - the wildflowers are unbelievable! Another town worth stopping at is Creede, which has a lot of history.

San Luis, way down south, is the oldest town in Colorado, It's small but has a big artist colony there, so there a lot of studios you can wander through. It's very pretty in a southwestern way.

I've lived here almost 20 years now and I love to take weekend trips out of Denver - it's cool that you want to go explore!
Hey -- I live in Montrose, which has a historic downtown district that is cute (and has been featured on the history channel). Around here I really like Telluride (summer or winter it is great to visit the cute shops, ride the gondolla, stay in the historic hotels, trails, hiking, biking, fantastic spa, Mountain Village, etc.) and Ouray is wonderful (hotsprings, historic main street, shops, trails, hiking, biking, etc.). There are tons more places around here, in Montrose many hotels offer deals for surounding areas, call them up and ask them what they are offering if you stay there.
