What are some good skii resorts in aspen, colorado that are affordable? |
Travel Info what are some good skii resorts that offer alot of amenites and such in aspen colorado, i have between 400-600 dollars to work on would that be enough? Travel Tips Smaller ski towns are a good bet too. Monarch ski area near Salida is a good mountain that's reasonably priced (so's lodging in Salida - we stayed at Travelodge for $50/night). Closer to Denver, Eldora ski area near Nederland, CO has a city bus that goes up to it just 1 bus connection away from the airport. There's a Best Western there that is reasonable. As far as amenities go... even somewhere cheap, you're not going to get very far with just $400-600. You'll be lucky just to find lodging, lift tickets, and rentals for that depending on how long you stay. Others It doesn't really work that way. Aspen and affordable? Good luck. $400-600 wouldn't be enough for lift tickets for a week at Aspen Mountain. If you were expecting to also stay at a hotel and eat meals, count on spending over a thousand dollars for a week, minimum. You do realize that Aspen is one of (if not THE) most expensive ski areas in the world, right? Snowmass is Aspen's poorer cousin down the road which would offer better deals, but it's still an expensive proposition skiing anywhere in Colorado. Summit County (Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper and A-Basin) or Winter Park have more to offer and you might find some deals further away from the slopes, but you'd better budget more money than that for week's stay anywhere. |
