We are moving to Denver. Any dangerous/unsafe neighborhoods to steer clear of?

Travel Tips
Well, long ago Downtown Denver was not so safe, but now everything is happening downtown and it is a nice place to visit, just keep out of the alleys...Also you may want to avoid Colfax. East and West Colfax. Federal North of 23rd all the way up to I70 and south to Hampden. Five points is considered unsafe by most people here. (Washington Street, 27th Street, 26th Avenue and Welton Street, northeast of Downtown Denver) Outside of that, its pretty safe out here.

Others
It's just like any big city. Some parts are safer. It's all relative, so other people's opinions are of little use to you. There's nothing like New York or Los Angeles worst neighborhoods.

If you want better safety, generally farther from downtown is good, although there is some new stuff right near downtown. If you want safety above all, either live in the country, or in one of the walled neighborhoods south of town (bring money, figure $500,000 and up for a house). Some probably have guards.

For the best information, use a real estate agent. They deal with rentals, also.
