Denver mint two sided quarter?

I have found a two sided quarter with the dates 1997and1998 on it is it real or a fake.

If you mean that it's a two-headed quarter, it would be highly unlikely it has two different dates on it, as a two-headed (or two-tailed quarter would have to be struck from the same die each time. There's no reason that there would be dies with two different dates in use at the same time (they set up a new die when the date they are printing changes.)

I think you probably have a gimmick two-headed quarter that is made by cutting two quarters in half and then sticking the heads together to make a two-headed one, and the remaining tails joined to make a two-tailed quarter. The quarters used for this were from different dates.
