Does anyone know when Independence Pass, in Colorado, will be open for traffic? |

You might be able to write to someone there and get that info. Hope this helps. Others Independence Pass is generally open from Memorial Day until snow falls in earnest, usually in late October to early November. The snowfall and steep, winding nature of the road make it unsafe for travel during winter months. To check the current road status of State Highway 82 through Independence Pass, visit the Colorado Department of Transportation's Web site at www.cotrip.org and follow the link from traveler information to road and weather conditions.
