Travel Tips
If you have a car, you definitely do not want to miss Rocky Mountain National Park, outside Estes Park. The park has some of the most beautiful scenic views of the Rockies you'll ever see. It's a perfect daytrip from Denver, only about a 90-minute drive. You can drive up to the top of Trail Ridge Road (bring warm clothing!) and get out of the car and do some easy hikes like around Sprague Lake or at Bear Lake. The town of Estes has great restaurants and souvenir shops. If you've never been to Colorado or the mountains, this is the perfect place - very romantic too (my husband and I were married in Estes!)

Also, here's a couple of websites on what to do in Denver. The free newspaper, Westword, will have an events calendar you can use closer to the time you're visiting:

the great sand dunes in south-central colorado are the largest inland sand dunes in the u.s. they're really cool.
Go to Pikes Peak you will love it and the Seven Falls. I go to CO every chance I get they have the most wonderful sights..CO is the best..have fun..
Denver has some great museums. If you want to drive a little, go West on I-70 and spend a day at Vail. Great restaurants and plenty to see and do even in Summer.
as well as go see the AF academy and olympic center
Here are some great trips in Colorado. all are very affordable and make for great day trips with a little adventure involved.
