Travel Tips It's 750 miles between Denver and Las Vegas, so if you look for a town around 375 miles away from either, you're in a Whole Lotta Nothin' Utah. The closest town to the middle (344 miles from Denver) would be Green River, Utah, a truck-stop town with about a half dozen motels and a couple decent places to eat (Ray's Tavern is great!). Other than that, Grand Junction, CO is about 250 miles from Denver and is the closest thing to city on the whole trip. Source(s): Been there - glad to only stay one night! But it's close to Moab, which is one of the most beautiful areas on earth! Other Travel Tips Green River is close enough to half way going or coming. On the highways, Green River, UT is the closest that you get to a city between the two. There's really not much in-between because it's all desert, then all mountain.
