Has anyone been to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, CO? |
Travel Info I'm thinking of visiting the Sanctuary in September. Can you give me any information about it? Is it worth it to go see it? Here is their website: http://www.wildlife-sanctuary.org... Also, should I stay in Denver and rent a car (I'd be flying in from California)? What else is there to do? I'd be going there from Fri-Mon. Travel Tips I haven't been to that sanctuary, but there is a big cat sanctuary in Colorado Springs that I've been to. It was great. You should visit both if you're able to. Also when you're in Denver you could visit the Aquarium which is downtown and Elitches. Elitches used to be a six flags but now it isn't which means it is much cheaper! Try to see a Rockies game if they're in town. Its cheap and fund. Also, the Denver Zoo has done a lot of renovating the past few years and is pretty cool. You could make it an animal themed weekend. Or go to gates planetarium at the museum of Natural History. Hope that helps. Others If you're going to CO, go to Fruita. It's on the other side (Western part ) of the state, but it's incredible. Bring a mountain bike. Well, you are definitely going to need a car to get out there. It's hard to say what you should do and where you should stay - are you coming out purely for pleasure or is it business and you just have some extra time? I'm assuming you aren't coming out strictly to go to the sanctuary. I've never been out there. I had heard of it - it's in the news every once in a while. A little more info and we can probably help you a little better. Feel free to email me. Well, if you will have the car I would recommend visiting Rocky Mountain National Park while you are here. Can't beat that for beauty and some wonderful hiking. You also might want to make you way to Boulder, which is on the way to the RMNP. Spend an afternoon on Pearl Street Mall. |
