Travel Info I am going to FT. Collins Colorado in august. With in100 miles what are some good family things to do? Travel Tips You can go rafting on the Poudre River. It's a fairly tame ride, and a lot of fun. There are several rafting companies - here's one website: http://www.adventuresports.com/wwraft/wa... Rocky Mountain National Park is less than an hour away. Estes Park is a fun little resort town, with touristy shopping and food. A horseride in RMNP might be fun. Fort Collins has New West Fest on August 18-20. It's nothing big, but kind of fun to stroll around. http://www.newwestfest.com/ Just a couple suggestions. Others In Ft. Collins visit the site of "Dan's Bake Sale" that took place in 1996 Well, it depends on what your interests are. You very, very close to Rocky Mountain National Park. So you have hiking, camping, you can go horseback riding. Denver isn't too far away, so there are all sorts of museums, the zoo. Kind of depends on how old your children are....there is Six Flags, baseball games..... Rocky Mountain National Park is a great way to spend the day! Gorgeous scenery, places to hike/picnic/take photos, etc. Look for elk, big horn sheep, marmots, mule deer, chipmunks, ground squirrels, Colorado jays, Abert's squirrels, etc. Trail Ridge road shoud be beautiful! Boulder is also a great way to spend the day...tour NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research), it has great views of the city too! http://www.eo.ucar.edu/visit/ Stroll the Pearl Street pedestrian mall, eat a fabulous burger at Tom's Tavern on Pearl Street, relax and enjoy! Me, former 11 year Boulder resident not much in Ft.Collins but Denver is less than an hour away.Lots to do there . Art museum, Aquarium, Zoo, US Mint. Co. history museum, Botanical gardens, Rockies games, Transportation museum , just to name a few things. also Water World, 6 flags...just google Denver also Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods in the Springs Fishing, boating, camping, hiking, biking, all kinds of recreation and plenty of shopping, it's only about 60 miles from Denver and there is plenty of activities you can do all along the Front Range and the many communities around the area. |
