Is Denver Colorado Safe.? |
Travel Info I am moving to Denver Colorado. I found an Apt. in Capitol Hill on Corona St. It's this area safe to live? Can someone tell me about that area? I heard some not too good things about Capitol Hill, but I am not sure if all is true..please I need some info about that street and the area...Thank you! Travel Tips I lived in LA, NY, and Boston before, I would say Denver is a better place to live. About illegal immigrant, I think everywhere in the US is about the same. Not all the illegal immigrant are gang, my personal opinion- they look for a better life in the US. As long as you don't bother them, they won't do anything bad to you. I live in Dever almost 2 years, I don't feel the crime rate is higher than some other city. Well, yes, there were murder or theft happened everyday, but this city crime rate is a lot lower. About the area that you rent, I think that would be OK. That area is near downtown, so parking would be a trouble sometimes. Anyway, wellcome to Denver and good luck on your trip. Others Denver's public relations force paints it as uber-safe. All of Denver is relatively safe (exceptions are Colfax and Five Points). I'm sure you'll be fine. I don't know about safe, but it sure was one of the dirtiest looking cities I've ever been in, however there was a lot of construction going on at the time. I lived in Denver about six years ago. The area you asked about is not the greatest, but certainly not the worst. Denver as a whole, is a fairly safe city. Very clean. Ufortunatly, there is a large illegal immigrant population there, and with illegal immigration, various crime rates always rise. Stay away from areas like Colfax St., Commerce City, outlying areas in Brighton, and some areas in North Denver. I lived in Thornton for about 6 years and that was pretty nice. I worked downtown, however, and I never liked going down there at night or on week-ends. I'll tell you the same thing I told another person just a few minutes ago... find a Rental Agent and let them find a place for you because Denver can be a bit rough in places. ok zeri...born and raised in denver...Capitol Hill can be a headache and can be the place to be depending on your attitude. there is a higher population of bums that hang out in that area, although you will be in a central area to do everything you want to in denver. the parking is another bad thing around that area. they don't have designated parking, and people park their cars wherever they find one. if you can afford Capitol Hill, then I would advise finding a place closer to Coors Field or on the outskirts of downtown... |
