Best neighborhoods / areas in and around Denver, Colorado?

Travel Info
I'm looking to relocate to Denver in the near future. I'm looking to buy a house there, and was looking at some KB Home projects out there. Can anyone that lives there take a look at their developments map and tell me which areas are the better ones? http://www.kbhome.com/map~regionid~4.asp...

I was considering the Stapleton area as it seems to be the closest to Denver itself, but not sure if it's okay. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Travel Tips
The most bang for you buck at the moment is north of downtown. Stay south of downing and north of park. This is Curtis park. It is currently going threw a regentification process. I purchased a house over there 3 years ago and It increased by over $50,000 in less than 3 years. It's not as expensive as Cherry Creek. There are now lofts going up in this area valued at $750,000+. However, it tough to by good property there anymore. You almost have to have an in with someone. But that will change in a few years. There are several very old guys in the area who purchased a bunch of stuff in the 70s when it was worth junk. They don't know what they have and you can get a really good price. Theres a little bit of crime left there now but not anymore than in the rest of the city. People fear going over there for no good reason anymore, so its not all that popular yet.

Edit:
Don't go to stapleton. All the riff-raff is headed that way and I bet it'll suck in 5 years.
Others
I built 2 KB homes in Highlands Ranch. It is a master planned community with rec centers, etc. I like it better than the Stapleton area.
It depends on what you are looking for. Stapleton is cool because it is new but also relatively close to downtown. Other areas are further out and are more suburban in look and feel. Stapleton could be a good investment as well since the new huge medical campus is opening in Aurora and many of hte biggest hospitals are relocating there over the next few years. Stapleton prices should go up as that will be an easy area for the medical campus to commute from.
You need to define "best" better.

The best is Cherry Hills or parts of Cherry Creek, but I don't know if your budget for housing is near $1,000,000 or above.

Stapleton is fun and fairly close in, looks to be relatively safe, a bit expensive for what you get, because it's a "new urbanism" development. If urban living appeals, check out LoDo (they have a website).

The neighborhoods East of Denver are pretty blah for me, dead flat, few trees, far from the mountains. I live in the western suburbs, pretty generic, but with mountain views and easy access.

Live close to where you'll be working, Denver has bad traffic.
