Why do Denver, CO natives have such a small town mentality, it's about the size of San Diego, CA!? |
Travel Info Many, not all, are not as cosmopolitan as people in other major cities. Travel Tips Because were natives! We have lived their all our lives. It never used to be half as big as it is now. We have grown to that "homey", "cozy" mentality. Maybe thats why. Others you are just not meeting the right ones I think you are confusing "small town mentality" with friendliness. Some of us don't want the LA mentality - look what it's done for LA. Denver (and Colorado) natives, by and large, have opposed the Californication of Colorado in general. Unfortunately, the paradox of Californians coming to Colorado and then trying to change us to be like California still exists. They should have stayed in California in the first place if they like it so much. What do you care really? Stay in LA with the others that appreciate the land of the fruits & nuts &leave the rest of us normal folk to our normal lives. How many "true" friends do you have in the world of fakers & silicon? No comparison my friend! People on the coasts tend to be much more sophisticated and cosmopolitan and politically liberal. Denver has a proud tradition of being much more down-to-earth and mid-western. So here, faith, family, and patriotism are a lot more important than, say, fashion and good restaurants. The truth is that Denver is still a cow town with lots of people who treat it like a small town--they are friendly, church-going, family-centered. And, if you ask me, that makes it better than any place on the coasts. I like silicon. Denver is sweet most of the time. The only time I hate it here is when everyone acts like they're from LA. I hate that crap so much. Can I get a "Hear Hear!" |
