Travel Info Can I get a visitor's visa to Canada at Niagara falls? Travel Tips You dont need a Visa to go into Canada from Detroit. I have always been able to just get over there using my drivers license whether I am there for the day or vacationing. I sometimes bring along my US Passport just in case they ask for more identification. And I always have my birth certificate handy. In like 2008 you will need a Passport to cross the border, but until then as long as you are a US born citizen you should not have too much problem vacationing in Canada without a visa and passport. Otherwise u do need visa and no ! u cant get it at Niagara falls. The nearest place for there would be Buffalo.
