What are the purple boxes near the Ann Arbor-Saline Road exit off I-94?

If you're on Ann Arbor-Saline Road going towards Ann Arbor, right after you cross the bridge over I-94, there are a bunch of purple boxes on poles on your right side. They look like birdhouses, but there are a lot of them in close proximity to each other. Does anyone know what's up with that?

Haven't seen them, but could they be bat houses. There is a movement afoot to encourage bats in the area. I'll drive out there and have a look.
I believe that it is either a Satanic Cult and they are full of animal body parts, or terrorists. Probably some of the evil people.
