Detroit has the potential of being a great city but the progress of becoming a great city is too slow and not moving at a rapid pace.

Having only been there once, i have the impression that there is alot of crime in that city, but there are some nice neighbourhoods too.
Downtown detroit has beautiful architechture and a lot of potential if it were cleaned up. It is obvious it was once monument of artistic influence. However, the city has a growing history of crime and poverty that make the chances of its rebirth grim at best. And with the auto industry scattering out about the world, it isn't getting any better.
