Best place to live in Detroit? |
Travel Info What's the best place to live in the Detroit area as far as cost of living and fun things to do. (I'm young with no children.) Travel Tips the grosse pointes are nice but rather pricey - st clair shores is just north or just south is also great in the area called affectionately "downriver". realize if you work or live int he city itself you will be paying city taxes as well as state and federal. they aren't much but even still -- i didn't realize it until i got my first paycheck! Others Gross Pointe In deroit?! If you could do a Suburb I would say over near woodward north of Detroit. If it has to be in Detroit than downtown for sure. There has been a sterotype of people downriver. I will leave it at that. Depending on what type of person youa re around woodward is prob best, you could check out Mount Clemens/gratiot district as well. If you have coin go to Grosse Point or the equvalent areas near woodward(north). Main Street in Royal Oak has plenty of bars, restaurants, and plenty of shopping. The cities around there are Royal Oak, Troy, Madison Heights, just to name a few. Detroit is a nice place 2 visit, doing about 90 mph.. its nick name is Dodge city.. knowen 4 dodging the bullet.. St. Claire Shores seems 2 be a good area with good schools.. and is about 15 mins from Detroit.. another great area is Sterling Heights.. about 40 mins from Detroit.. Don't get a place on 8 mile and gratiot. You might get shot |
