City with the highest/lowest crime rate? |
Travel Info New York was the safest of the nation's 10 largest cities in 2005, with about one crime reported for every 37 residents, according to an Associated Press analysis of FBI statistics. The large city with the highest total crime rate was Dallas, with about one crime reported for every 12 people. SUPRISED??? Travel Tips To davidg32--SLC is nowhere near the top 10 largest American cities. In the 2000 census, it was smaller than several of the nations suburbs (e.g., Mesa, Arizona). To slippiefist, New Orleans, especially after Katrina, is also nowhere near the top 10. Overall, I'd say that the listing makes some sense. The top 10 cities, in order, are: New York City Los Angeles Chicago Houston Philadelphia Phoenix San Antonio San Diego Dallas San Jose I probably would have expected Philadelphia, Phoenix, or Houston to make be the most dangerous, but I'm not floored. Glad I don't live in Dallas, even tho I do live in the DFW area. =P yes.although i live in asia,spore crime rate is low too! Yeah, I'm surprised about New York being the safest but not at all surprised about Dallas having the highest crime rate. I live about 3 hours away from Dallas and NEVER go there because it's scary! Surprised that New York was safest. I would have thought it would have been Salt Lake City. im a little surprised, i wouldve thought new orleans to be the most dangerous city. |
